These monthly workshops are designed to teach Sun City Lincoln Hills residents how to conduct routine maintenance chores around the house.  The workshops are conducted by skilled volunteers from our Handy Helper program and are presented for up to 15 residents in a volunteer's home.  Each attendee is provided with a handbook of reference materials.

Residents will learn about:

Smoke alarms - configurations, care and maintenance
Furnace filters - different types, smart and fresh vents
GFI's, circuit breakers and how to spot a switched outlet
Lighted address signs
Doorbells
Garbage disposals - releasing jams
Sprinkler controllers - programming
Sprinkler and drip heads - adding and fixing
Garage doors - lubing and adjusting
Water shut off valves - location and shut off
Water heaters - maintenance
CFLs - energy savings and lighting improvements
Carbon monoxide detectors - why they're a good idea
Annual gas furnace inspections
